THE KEYS CLUB

In the community of Clearlake Oaks where I live, there is a subdivision known as the Clearlake Keys. All of the homes in the Keys have a canal in the backyard that provides access to Clear Lake. Property owners in the Keys are eligible to join the Keys Club, a social club that hosts dinner/dances and other activities. This song was written about that organization, where I play music for their events. To learn more about The Keys Club, click here to visit the club’s web site.

Puttin’ on my dancing shoes Zippin’ up my party suit
We’re going out where the lights are warm and bright
Gonna see my neighbors and friends Let the good times roll again
Going where everyone is feeling all right

It’s the Keys Club that’s the place,
It’s the Keys Club where folks are great
That’s where I go for the smile you see on my face

Now if you’re down and feeling alone Please don’t sit by yourself at home
Get out on the town and live your life
Drive on down to Lakeland Street To the side where the grass is green
Where people party and the drinks are less than half price

It’s the Keys Club that’s the place
It’s the Keys Club where folks are great
That’s where I go for the smile you see on my face

It’s getting late I’ve had a few It’s getting past my curfew
I hate to go but I really do have to leave
Looking forward to the very next time Good friends good food good wine
And being with my second family

It’s the Keys Club that’s the place
It’s the Keys Club where folks are great
That’s where I go for the smile you see on my face

It’s the Keys Club that’s the place
It’s the Keys Club where folks are great
That’s where I go for the smile you see on my face
