The "Invictas" were formed during the summer of 1964, and were based in St. Helena, California. I was on summer break from Occidental College. The other guitar player, Don Perdue, had just graduated from high school that year - he and I had jammed together during the previous summer of 1963. The drummer was Steve Fellion. Occasionally a bass player name Len Fisk (who went to Occidental College when I did) joined us. We played a few local gigs. We did mostly surf music, which was popular at the time. In the picture below, I am on the left, Steve is on the drums, and Don is on the right. Steve's brother, Bob Fellion, is on the far right, but he wasn't a band member. I played a sunburst Fender Stratocaster through a Fender Tremolux amp and a Fender spring reverb. Don Perdue played a Gibson ES-335.
The name "Invictas" was derived from the Buick model of that era.

Here's a copy of the Invictas business card.
