I grew up in the 1950’s, the decade that heralded the birth of rock and roll. I would fall asleep at night to the sounds of the radio playing such old hits as ‘Sweet Little Sixteen’, Peggy Sue’, and ‘Hound Dog’. This may have been a form of sleep teaching, and instilled in me a sense of rhythm and feel for rock music that is as natural as walking or talking.
This love of music prompted me to learn the guitar and keyboard. I then went on to play with a number of bands: The Invictas, The Plague Ltd., The Heard, The Willy K Trio Plus One, and Rockin’ Horse, to name a few. In the 1960’s, the groups I was in performed with such greats as Them, The Yardbirds, The Hollies, and The Dave Clark Five. During the 1970’s, 80’s and 90’s, I performed with groups that catered to fraternal organizations (Moose, Elks, etc.). I did this while being responsible for a full time career and a family.
In 2003, I retired from a career in information technology, providing the time to pursue my musical passions without the distractions of a full time job. My emphasis is to be able to perform a wide variety of music that just about everyone will enjoy. This includes classic rock, country, blues, folk, and standards.
To create this sound, I use automation and electronics. A special automated backing device provides drums, bass, and rhythm instrumentation. I play the guitar and keyboard to provide the melody to the music. I do the vocals and use a special device to add harmony where appropriate.
On a final note (no pun intended), I am also focused on creating my own music. I have written a number of songs over the past three decades, and am now in a position to concentrate more on giving musical expression to my feelings and emotions.
