The Willy K Trio

I met up with this group in 1976 when we lived in Napa.  Willy K was Bill Jansen, a very good vocalist and sax player.  Dick Muntz was the keyboard player.  I forget the name of the drummer, and while I was with the group, the original drummer was replaced by someone else whose name also escapes me.

The WIlly K Trio played for fraternal organizations - Moose (note the moose horns in the photo at the right), Elks, Eagles, Native Sons, etc.  The music they played was standards, and they wanted some rock and roll added.  So I joined up and became the 'Plus One'.  I was with these guys until I moved to South Lake Tahoe in 1978.  In the picture, from left to right are myself, the drummer, Bill, and Dick.

I learned a lot performing with Willy K.  The variety of music they played influenced me to learn to play more than just rock.  As a result, I now play an extremely wide variety of music that will please just about anyone.
